Marudhu (மருது)

Director:  M. Muthaiah

Music: D. Imam

Cast: Vishal, Sri Divya

Maruthu is about a sweet bonding between a grandmother and her grandson. This plot is packed with other commercial elements and the end product doesn't look all that sweet. The 1st half takes its own time to establish all the million characrers and it was quite a task to sit through. Parota Soori is becoming the sought after comedian these days, especially when it comes to rural subjects.

I liked the sentimental aspects of the movie and of course the action sequences. Comedy and love portions looked a bit weak and forced. But there are some sweet moments that will make you laugh whole heartedly. The screenplay could have been better.

Sri divya did her part of a pretty looking village girl and making few appearances in the songs. The artiste who played the grandmother was amazing. She had so much energy on screen. Radha Ravi had an immature death, when more was expected from him. Suresh was brilliant as a baddie. He looked threatening and packed quite a punch.
